    Untying Development's Straightjacket: Masculinities, Sexualities and Social Change

    Sexuality and Development Workshop 2008

    Dates: 10 Apr 2008

    How do development interventions impact on people's sexualities? And how can development agencies move towards more constructive engagement with sexuality? These were the topic of discussion in IDS from 3-5 April, for more than 70 workshop participants from a range of activist groups, NGOs, universities, government bodies and donor organisations worldwide.


    'Queering Development Seminar Series' 2000-2001

    Why is development so straight? Sexuality is often ignored in development studies or practice, or if included, conceived of as a narrow form of heterosexuality. In early 2000 a group of students and staff at IDS got together to talk about this.


    Realising Sexual Rights Event: Sweden Ministry of Foreign Affairs Workshop 2006

    The workshop, initiated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ Expert Group on Development Issues (EGDI), brought together senior members of the Swedish government, researchers, practitioners and activists.
