The nature and role of collective action in pressuring for greater inclusiveness, accountability and transparency in public policy is the focus of this theme. IDS research brings together work on the co-production of public services by state and non-state actors, collective action and public services in Mexico, Brazil and India, anti-corruption movements in India, civil society and public policy in Africa, participatory budgeting in Brazil, and comparative research on civil society budget analysis and advocacy initiatives.
