IDS at the Brighton Festival Fringe 2010
- Dates: 19 May 2010
- Time: 18.00 - 19.30
- Location: Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton
Global poverty after the financial crisis: business as usual or a brighter future? Join a panel of speakers to debate whether this century can be more sustainable and equitable than the last.
What would development look like if we were starting from scratch? Instead of talking about small, incremental changes, we want to hear the views of the audience and the panel on how we could do things better from a blank slate. The event will be a lively and wide-ranging discussion including a variety of different viewpoints on global poverty issues.
The panel will include Lord Bassam of Brighton and Hove; Christopher Davis, International Campaigns Director of The Body Shop International; and Kate Harrison, International Grants Manager at Comic Relief. It will be chaired by Lawrence Haddad, Director of IDS.
