Man Trouble? A panel on directions for work with men on gender, power and violence
- Dates: 18 March 2010
- Time: 13.00 - 14.30
- Location: IDS room 221
Fifteen years on from the Beijing conference, and its calls to engage men in gender equality work, what progress has been made in work with men on issues of gender, power and violence?
What have we learned about how to frame this work, where to locate it, which strategies to use and how to fund them?
What are the major challenges and questions facing the field of gender equality work with men?
In what directions should this work be headed, and what priorities should it be setting, over the course of the next 15 years?
Please join a distinguished panel of practitioners in the field to address these and other questions. The panel includes:
- Abhijit Das, Director of Center for Health and Social Justice, India
- Alan Greig, independent consultant, USA
- Chris Dolan, Director of Refugee Law Project, Uganda
- Njoki Wainana, National Gender Adviser with Men for Gender Equality Now, Kenya
- Moderated by Jerker Edström, IDS Research Fellow, KNOTS. All welcome.
