Clare Gorman
With the other Communication Officers, I am responsible for developing the ongoing strategy for the Institute’s communications work, with particular reference to publicity, media and external relations.
I manage and edit a number of IDS outputs including the Annual Report, IDS Policy Briefings, In Focus and the IDS Research Summary series. I coordinate publicity and PR events and identify opportunities and develop ideas for external seminars, parliamentary work and book launches. I also write press releases, web pages, leaflets and other communications outputs, and oversee the design and production of various print materials.
I joined the IDS Communications Team in 2000. My background is in NGO communications, specialising in media and public relations. Prior to joining IDS, I worked with UNICEF, UK Youth and Comic Relief.
