Biography
Hadeer has been working on the dynamics governing common-pool resource management in developing countries. Recently, her research has been focused on inland fisheries in Egypt. Amongst other questions, Hadeer explores how communal management affects or is affected by national environmental policies at large. Hadeer is also interested in tracing the mechanisms by which science is integrated in environmental policy making. Prior to joining IDS, Hadeer was a researcher, consultant and a teacher assistant in the American University in Cairo. Hadeer holds a BA (2004) in Political Economy and MA (2008) in Development (Political Science), both degrees which are from the American University in Cairo.Thematic Expertise
