Pearce, J. and McGee, R with Wheeler, J.(2011) 'Violence, Security and Democracy: Perverse Interfaces and their Implications for States and Citizens in the Global South'
The Violence, Participation and Citizenship (VPC) group of the Development Research Centre (DRC) on Citizenship, Participation and Accountability undertook projects in four countries to explore violence and citizenship. This paper examines relationships between violence, security and democracy, and their sometimes perverse implications for the lives of citizens of the global South.
