Identifying links between agriculture and social protection
Agricultural growth is central to reducing rural poverty. It can also provide social protection by enhancing food supplies, creating jobs and stimulating growth in other economic sectors. Households, in both domestic and productive (that is, agricultural) contexts, are vulnerable to shocks and stresses. Social protection should address both contexts simultaneously.
