Economic growth in Viet Nam is not shared equally by all ethnic minorities
There are substantial differences in living standards among Viet Nam’s 54 officially recognised ethnic groups. Most lowland Vietnamese Kinh, who make up 84 percent of the population, have benefited greatly from economic reforms initiated since the late 1980s. Migration affects the health of mothers and children in Rajasthan’s slums
In Rajasthan, more babies and children die than in most other Indian states. The children of migrant workers are especially vulnerable compared to the children of non-migrant families. The fact that poor people have to move on a regular basis has important consequences for their health and their diet.

A sustainable return for displaced people in southern Sudan
The 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement ended Sudan’s civil war and set up a framework for the return of millions of refugees. However, the peace agreement is fragile, there is great insecurity, governments cannot deliver services and funding is restricted. In such circumstances, adequate support for both refugees and host communities is essential.
