BRIDGE

BRIDGE
BRIDGE supports gender advocacy and mainstreaming efforts of researchers, policymakers and practitioners by bridging the gaps between theory, policy and practice with accessible and diverse gender information in print and online.

BRIDGE Publications

BRIDGE publications are free to download in several languages from the BRIDGE website (www.bridge.ids.ac.uk). Paper copies are distributed free of charge to Southern-based organisations. We produce a range of publications, including:

Cutting Edge Packs - an accessible Overview Report on a gender theme, a Supporting Resources Collection providing summaries of key materials and contacts for organisations, and a Gender and Development In Brief bulletin (see below).

Gender and Development In Brief - BRIDGE's popular email and print bulletin contains an overview article and two short case studies on a gender theme. In Brief is included in Cutting Edge Packs as well as being available itself as a free publication.

Annotated Bibliographies
– a selection of key tools and resources on a gender theme summarised and compiled into a bibliography, with an introductory overview.

Siyanda Website

BRIDGE also manages Siyanda  - an online database of summarised gender and development materials from around the world with links to full-text resources. It is also an interactive space where gender practitioners can share ideas, experiences and resources. Siyanda includes:

Quick Guide – a monthly collection of key resources on a given gender theme. Includes donor reports, practical materials from the South, and research from key NGOs.

Country Focus – a monthly collection of key resources about a given country. Includes gender country profiles, gender equality reports and in-depth case studies.

Experts’ and Consultants’ database – a networking and consultancy tool for gender practitioners to connect with others in their work.

Discussion board – a space for users to find and post news of announcements, funding opportunities, training events and short papers.
