The Governance and Social Development Resource Centre (GSDRC) provides high quality, timely information to support international development project and programme planning, policy-making, and other activities both desk based and in the field. The website offers access to the best thinking, research and training available in governance, conflict and social development as well as advice on-demand, including rapid response research and consultant finding.

The GSDRC is a consortium of twelve organisations with the four core partners being University of Birmingham, International Development Department, Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, Social Development Direct Limited and Coffey International Development.


What does GSDRC offer?

Document Library - an up-to-date collection of the most credible publications available on governance, conflict and social development issues. It includes brief, policy-oriented summaries of each document, plus links to the full text online or by document delivery.

Helpdesk - offers a rapid response research service for short desk-based research needs.

Find a consultant - provide governments and donor agencies with rapid access to a large pool of high quality consultants. The GSDRC handles all contract management and ensure project delivery according to ISO-9001 certified quality standards.

Topic Guides - provide a comprehensive overview of current knowledge in various thematic areas.

E-mail updates – monthly bulletins highlighting news and new additions to the GSDRC website.
