IDS Research Fellow, Andy Sumner

Andy Sumner is Research Fellow in the Vulnerability and Poverty Reduction Team at IDS and a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development, Washington, DC. He is a cross-disciplinary Economist and his research relates to poverty, inequality and human wellbeing, with particular reference to poverty concepts and indicators, global trends and MDG/post-MDG debates. Currently, Andy contributes to the Global Dashboard blog.

MICROCON - Researchers' reflections on violent conflict

This is the blog of the MICROCON research programme, featuring the reflections of MICROCON's 60-strong team of researchers on current conflicts, and on the latest findings of the MICROCON programme. MICROCON is a five-year research programme funded by the European Commission, which takes an innovative micro level, multidisciplinary approach to the study of the conflict cycle.

Liz works within IDS Knowledge Services looking after all our country-focused work. This involves managing a partnership with the National Library Service of Malawi collecting and disseminating Malawian news and research. Outside of work, Liz is an active immigration, asylum and anti-deportation campaigner.

Jason works on governance, conflict and security issues in IDS Knowledge Services editing the Eldis resource guides and facilitate each of the groups on the community site. He is passionate about practices and processes that can engender peace and reconciliation, and is particularly interested how they can be effected in East Africa.
