Project Accountant/Co-ordinator (481)

Part time, 17.5 hours per week (originally incorrectly advertised as full time)
Fixed Term Contract to 31st July 2013

A Project Accountant/Coordinator is required to work within the Finance Department at IDS providing the financial reporting and analysis necessary for the effective management of an exciting new program of work: Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA).

This is a £7.5m 6 year project with funding for an initial 18 months after which, subject to satisfactory Funder review, the project will continue for a further 4.5 years.

The successful candidate will be at least part qualified (ACCA/CIMA), or exceptionally hold the equivalent level gained through experience.

IDS will play the lead role in organising the finances of the project including disbursing funds, checking the financial reports of consortium members and acting as the primary point of contact for all finance queries relating to this area of work.

The work will involve extensive financial liaison with members of the LANSA consortium and the lead institution which is based in India.

This will be a challenging role and includes the need to develop financial management processes and systems.

Experience of working with budgets and funder/donor reporting is essential. Candidates must be experienced in providing detailed analysis of financial information and interpreting it for both non-financial and financial audiences both internally and externally and be familiar with accounting year end procedures.

The candidate must have advanced excel skills and be conversant with a range of Microsoft products. The candidate must also possess a high level of numeracy and have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Salary: £23,587 to £35,231 per annum in the Grade 6 salary scale
