Financing Renewable Energy in Developing Countries: Mechanisms and Responsibilities is a background paper that has been prepared for the European Report on Development (ERD) 2012. The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in consortium with German Development Institute (DIE) and European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECPDM), has been contracted by the European Commission and seven Member States contributing to the project (Finalnd, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom) to produce the ERD 2012 on effective natural resource management for inclusive and sustainable growth in the context of increased natural resource scarcity and climate change: what role for the public and private sectors.
