Hours: Part time, 28 hours per week (0.8FTE)
Contract type: Fixed term, 9 months, 1 April – 31 December 2016

The Centre for Development Impact (CDI) at IDS is recruiting a Research Officer to support the work of the New Frontiers in Evaluation initiative.

Applicants must have a post graduate degree in the economics and/or social science of international development, or equivalent work experience. Applicants must also have familiarity with the concept and practice of impact investing, and market-based development approaches more generally. Familiarity with current debates around impact evaluation is also desirable.

Excellent writing and editing skills in English are essential. Applicants should also have excellent analytical and synthesis skills and the ability to assimilate complex research or other relevant material quickly, assess its merits, and draw out key messages and implications for policy and practice.

Salary: Initial appointment will be at/between £24,788 - £37,024 per annum, notional, pro rata (depending on experience), in the IDS Grade 6 range.
