IDS Alumni Dinner in Mexico City
Andy Newsham, a fellow in the Climate Change team, hosted an alumni dinner in Mexico City in March. The dinner was attended by twelve alumni, ranging from the intake of 2010-11, all the way back to the intake of 2000-2001, the majority of whom had proceeded to work in the development arena. Having studied at IDS, which the group had in common, led to a tangible sense of group identity – not least because the alumni network in Mexico is impressively active – and more than a little nostalgia.
A lively conversation ensued around work interests and potential link-ups, fond memories from people's time at IDS and what people had taken with them into their professional lives from their experiences at the Institute. There was a keen appetite for further dinners, so watch this space!
