Tackling the Ebola Crisis

The Ebola crisis was more than a medical emergency. With initial interventions failing to halt the rapid spread of the deadly epidemic, IDS came together with international partners to share vital knowledge of local customs and social practices to help put in place more effective measures that gradually began to see the crisis brought under control. 

Targeting Tax Avoiders in Uganda 

A project working with the Uganda tax authorities to tackle high net worth individuals resulted in raising £4m extra tax revenue in just one year. The research was led by the International Centre for Tax and Development (ICTD), based at the Institute of Development Studies.
