Ahmed A. El-Hamid A. El-Wahed has 23 years of community development experience in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, acquired through a variety of work experience with national, regional and international organisations.

Ahmed is a co-founder and the chairman of the Academy for International Development – Middle East (AIDME), an organisation working in the field of Socio-Economic, Socio-Political and Governance and Democratisation field in MENA. AIDME's mission is to contribute to effectuation of positive sustainable change through the provision of experts' knowledge, the implementation of quality services and local capacity building at every level.

Ahmed is also closely affiliated with the African Technology Policy Studies (ATPS), a network encompassing many African countries, whose intention is to provide solid, practical solutions for complicated problems. Currently, he is a Board Member for the Egypt Chapter of the ATPS.
