The Impact and Learning Team (ILT) aims to generate new insights into the role of information intermediaries in international development and apply these insights through collaborative learning within the IDS Knowledge Services and with other organisations.
The ILT is taking forward the values and work of the Strategic Learning Initiative (SLI), which was based at IDS from 2005-09, and had a remit to promote evidence-based learning about knowledge, information and communication in international development.
Insights and reflections from both these initiatives can be found in the following publications:
- Exploring the research to policy context
- Role of information and knowledge intermediaries
- Operationalising intermediary work
IDS Practice Papers In Brief
Additionally, ILT contributes to and produces the IDS Practice Papers In Brief series, which aim to share our experiences and learning emerging from our work on knowledge brokers and information intermediaries.
Our experiences contribute to the body of knowledge, and are not intended to be read as offering incontestable insights or providing perfect models. For this reason, the In Brief papers should not be read in isolation, and should be seen as complementary to other work conducted on related issues of capacity development, knowledge management, and policy influence, including other ILT publications.
For general enquiries about the work of ILT, please contact Steve Tovell, ILT Programme Coordinator.
