As Brazil heads into a decisive election later this year, it finds itself at the forefront of the global debate on political extremism and disinformation. While trust in institutions and civic engagement are at a historic low, civil society organisations and movements are engaged in reversing the political apathy and threats to democracy that have plagued the country in recent years. In this seminar, we will discuss with those on the frontline of many of these issues, who will share their experiences and what lessons we can all learn from the Brazilian case.
