Disability inclusive employment is gaining increased attention from funders, policymakers, scholars, and practitioners, as well as from employers and prospective employees with disabilities. But what actually works, how, who for, and why?
These questions were explored and analysed in a new special issue for the Journal of International Development, edited by members of the Disability Research Team at IDS. The papers address various aspects of disability inclusive employment, drawing on research from many countries in Asia and Africa, whilst the editorial identifies the common elements between the research.
In this event, the editors will be joined by some of the authors contributing to the special issue in a discussion of their research, before an open discussion about disability inclusive employment with special guest Peter Torres-Fremlin, a freelance consultant. By attending this event, you will gain knowledge and understanding about the dilemmas and controversies of disability inclusive employment in a global context, and be able to engage with leading disability researchers.
