IDS is excited to announce that Peter Taylor has been appointed IDS’ new Director of Research. Peter will start the role on at the beginning of January 2020.

Prior to moving to Canada, he worked for six years as a Research Fellow at IDS.

On his appointment to Director of Research, Peter Taylor said:

“I have watched IDS’s reputation and contribution to global development research, teaching and engagement grow ever stronger over recent years. After a very fulfilling ten years working for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada, I am really thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to return to IDS at a time when there are so many potential ways for the Institute to help make a real difference in the world.”

We are looking forward to welcoming Peter back to IDS, at an exciting time for the institute as we develop and implement our new five-year strategy and take our engaged research and learning to the next level.

Peter will take over from John Gaventa who will remain at IDS as a Research Fellow.
