King Kaka represents the voice of millions of disenfranchised young Kenyan men and women. Over the last few years, young Kenyans they have expressed absolute disdain for a flawed political system whose players ignore citizens’ needs and rights until the next election cycle.
The Independent Electoral and boundaries Commission (IEBC) began an ambitious campaign to ensure that youth (the largest demographic of citizens with ¾ of the population being under 35) register as voters. However, they were shocked when only 40% of the registered voters were youth, a decline of 5.17% from the previous 2017 election. But why?
