Ashley Kuchanny

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist

Ashley is an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation specialist, with particular focus on child rights, refugees and education in fragile contexts. 

She is a keen advocator of participatory and inclusive monitoring and evaluation methods that engage all stakeholders as equal contributors, and is experienced in providing training, technical and operational support to southern-based organisations. Ashley lived in Zambia for four years working in poverty reduction and health, and has worked regularly in Bangladesh and Uganda.

Before joining IDS she worked as M&E Manager at child rights organization Children on the Edge, and as International Programmes Officer at BRAC. Ashley is an IDS alum, holding an MA in Poverty and Development and graduating in 2010. Previously she has been the IDS alumni ambassador for the UK.



Action for Empowerment and Accountability (A4EA)

Action for Empowerment and Accountability is an international research programme which explores how social and political action can contribute to empowerment and accountability in fragile, conflict, and violent settings, with a particular focus on Egypt, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria and Pakistan.
