Dr. Juan Carlos Munoz-Mora is Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Conflict and Violence Cluster at IDS. His primary research interests are in Development Economics, Political Economics, Agricultural Economics and Micro-econometrics. Prior to joining IDS, Juan Carlos was a one-year Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Economics Department at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Juan Carlos has a Ph.D in Economics from the European Centre for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics (ECARES) at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in 2016. He completed his dissertation on the micro-level impact of civil war and illegal activities in developing countries, under the supervision of Professor Philip Verwimp (ULB) and Marta Reynal-Querol (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). He received the European Doctorate mention for his stay at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra during the research phase of his Ph.D (three years).
