Sarah Houston

MA Gender and Development Student

Sarah is pursuing her MA in Gender in Development, focusing specifically on displaced women. During her time as a Fulbright Scholar in Turkey, Sarah was introduced to an Iranian refugee community who inspired her to dedicate her career to working with asylum seekers and refugees.

She recently returned from running the Female Friendly Space (FFS) in Fillippiada refugee camp in Greece, where she focused on innovative empowerment programs for women. Sarah plans to attend University of Virginia School of Law in the fall in order to fulfil her dream of becoming an immigration lawyer.
