The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) and Jodie Thorpe of the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) have partnered together to deploy the ‘ANDE/IDS Gender Inclusion and Investing for Brazilian SGBs in the Creative Economy’ project. This project was funded by the British Council’s Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies (DICE) Collaboration Grant.
ANDE and IDS will engage with ecosystem actors across Brazil to strengthen Brazil’s social and creative enterprise and small and growing business (SGB) ecosystem in support of inclusive economies.
The project will:
1) Train intermediaries working with social and creative enterprises on how to integrate women’s empowerment into their core business models
2) Educate Brazilian impact investors about the creative economy and how to invest in social and creative enterprises using a gender lens.
This intervention aims to support around 100 social and creative enterprises, which will be provided to these enterprises through the training of intermediary organizations that work with or have the potential to start working with social and creative enterprises.
