In this project, IDS designed and delivered a 5-day workshop in Nampula, Mozambique on behalf of the ALIADAS-WVL programme in March 2023.
The ALIADAS-WVL programme convenes a network of NGOs working to defend the rights of women and girls across Mozambique, and requested support from IDS to deliver training on the use of audio-visual methods for context monitoring. Informed by the principles of Digital Storytelling, Photovoice and Participtory Video, participants created narrated slide show videos telling the stories of their individual or organisational feminist journey.
Following the workshop, IDS has delivered virtual follow-up sessions and a handbook for participants to use in future.
While in Mozambique, IDS team also conducted interviews with ALIADAS-WVL partners and staff on the impact of the programme. Some of these recorded interviews have been used to produce a video documenting the individual, organisational and community impact of the programme.
Using these interviews and relevant programme policies and strategies, IDS are also in the process of documenting the MEL approach adopted by the programme, with plans for an IDS Working Paper and journal article.
