From Sustainable Development to the Green Transformation – A Rough Guide

Published on 8 March 2013

There is increasing realisation in government, civil society and business circles that the global economic system is out of balance with the earth’s carrying capacity. Continuing on the same path is not sustainable.

The most widely discussed problem is climate change, but there are other problems such as resource depletion, chemical pollution and biodiversity loss. Many concepts have been put forward to indicate what is to be achieved and how to move forward. This Briefing Paper provides a rough guide through the green conceptual landscape.
