Farming Development in India

The aim of this study is to predict and evaluate the response of agricultural production in two particular regions of India to policy alternatives affecting agriculture. The range of policies to be considered will include irrigation, fertilisers, seeds, credit, education, extension etc.

The results of the study will consist of substantive conclusions with regard to the particular region studied; and the development of methods which could be used in other regions in India and in other countries. The project is being undertaken jointly with the London School of Economics and is directed by Mr.L.Joy.
