WFP’s support to strengthening the national social protection system in Cambodia

Published on 12 August 2024

This case study reviews the World Food Programme’s (WFP) support to social protection in Cambodia over the last decade.

It assesses how WFP has supported the various building blocks of Cambodia’s national social protection system, focusing on non-contributory social assistance as the Royal Government of Cambodia’s main mechanism for supporting poor and vulnerable people. This is a light-touch exercise, undertaken through a rapid literature review and interviews with WFP current and former staff.
