This paper explores the intersection of climate change and extremes, conflict, and social protection in Ethiopia. It examines the long-term, 40-year history of climate extremes over Ethiopia and impacts on agriculture and then focuses specifically on the complex intersection of droughts, floods, locust infestations, and conflict during the 2020–23 period.
