IDS is looking for a Chair of the Board of Trustees

The Institute of Development Studies is seeking to appoint a Chair of the Board of Trustees to take up the role following the Board’s meeting in July 2020. This would entail chairing the Board at its next scheduled meeting in December 2020.

The role requires an exceptional candidate with strategic vision who is passionate about helping lead the Institute through the next phase of its development, including the implementation of its strategy 2020-25.

Prof Melissa Leach, Director, Institute of Development Studies, says, “Our highly engaged, International Board is crucial to our vitality and success. It has been a pleasure to work with our outgoing Chair and we are now seeking an exceptional successor to oversee the Institute into the next stage of its future. This is an exciting time, as new opportunities and challenges for development emerge in a rapidly-changing world”.

Time-table

  • Closing date for applications: 20 January 2020
  • Initial interviews 10 February with Red Sea
  • Final panel interviews Feb/ March to be confirmed
