Mariam is a fundraising and partnerships professional with a deep commitment to international development. Over the past decade, she has built a career spanning the non-profit, academic, and international policy sectors, with a consistent focus on strategic relationship management, resource mobilisation, and creating impact through cross-sector collaboration.
Her work has taken her from the working in the South Caucasus region to the UK, navigating contexts as diverse as global conservation campaigns, complex multi-stakeholder negotiations, and higher education alumni engagement. Her work was focused at raising funding for conservation landscapes, developing innovative corporate engagement strategies, and managing partnerships with government, philanthropic, and private sector actors.
At IDS, Mariam combines strategic fundraising with leading the Institute’s alumni relations and engagement programme. She has strengthened ties with a global network of graduates working in development and policy. Alongside this, she manages large-scale bid processes, coordinates strategic frameworks and long-term agreements, and drives proactive fundraising efforts for programmes addressing the most pressing global challenges.
In her previous role at World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Mariam designed and implemented an industry-based approach to corporate engagement, successfully developing bankable projects in sustainable forestry and representing the organisation in international campaigns such as Earth Hour.
Mariam is an alumna of the MA in Globalisation, Business and Development at IDS, a Chevening Scholar, and a graduate of the Women’s Impact Alliance Empowered Leader Programme. She has recently completed a Diploma in Fundraising with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, deepening her expertise in strategic fundraising management.
