Sufang Zhang is professor in the School of Economics and Management at the North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), and Director of the Institute for Low Carbon Economics and Trade affiliated to the NCEPU. She is also an energy policy consultant of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), research fellow at the Research Center for Beijing Energy Development.
She had been a visiting scholar in the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University during August 2011-August 2012, and the School of Business at the University of Washington during Sept. 2003-March 2004. Before joining the NCEPU in 1993, she had been for years a project officer in a provincial government department in charge of international development programs. Her research field focuses on low carbon economy transition, particularly renewable energy economics and policy in China.
She has directed or participated a lot of energy research projects funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education of China, among others. She has published many peer refereed papers in Journals such as Energy, Applied Energy, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Renewable Energy, Environmental Pollution and Journal of Cleaner Production, etc.
