Training and organisational learning

We work with organisations and individuals to provide training, action-oriented learning, and bespoke knowledge solutions to increase the impact of your work.

Develop your skills

We design and deliver professional development training courses that offer individuals a unique opportunity to learn from peers, IDS researchers and global experts to help build vital skills and expand professional networks.

Delivered by leading researchers and practitioners, our short courses are based on the research and cutting-edge tools and methodologies pioneered by IDS and our partners.

In order to embed the learning across your organisation, we offer a discount when booking three or more places on our courses. If you can’t find a short course to meet your organisation’s needs, we can work with you to develop custom learning solutions tailored to your organisation’s requirements.

Increasing your organisation’s impact

As well as training for individuals, we can work with your organisations to design and deliver bespoke research, evidence and learning solutions to help increase impact.

This could range from custom organisational or individual facilitated learning activities to providing longer-term research, evidence and learning support within development programmes.

Recent learning activities have helped UK Government Staff to better integrate water security into development programming, improve SDC’s governance network, strengthened the use of social protection approaches in different crisis contexts, embedded participatory learning approaches to support the sanitation and hygiene sector, build the skills of mid-career social scientists and humanitarian and public health practitioners
