Climate Adaptation and Resilience for Women, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities in Tropical Forests

Published on 29 November 2024

This K4DD Rapid Evidence Review is the first in a series of reports prepared in support of a Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4DD) evidence and policy clinic on effective climate adaptation in tropical forest settings.

This review explores factors leading to both positive and maladaptive outcomes for communities living in and around tropical forests following climate-related mitigation and adaptation initiatives, with a particular focus on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs).

For the purposes of this review, adaptation approaches for communities living in a range of tropical forest contexts are considered, from the tropical dry forests in Magway, Myanmar, to mangrove forests in Bangladesh and India.
