First Arabic language cohort of social science and humanitarian fellows announced

The Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) – a partnership between the Institute of Development Studies, Anthrologica, Gulu University, Le Groupe D’etudes Sur Les Conflits Et La Sécurité Humaine (GEC-SH), London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of Juba, CRCF Senegal, University of Ibadan and the Sierra Leone Urban Research Centre – has announced the first Arabic language cohort of its SSHAP Fellowship.

The Fellowship, which began on 19 February 2024, involves networking opportunities, and technical training for social scientists and humanitarian practitioners working in low- and middle-income countries. After receiving 234 complete applications, the following 12 individuals have been selected:

  • Mohamad Fawzi Ammouneh (UNICEF)
  • Malak Saeed (Defense for Children International – Palestine)
  • Musharrafah Abolarin (Ministry of Health – Oyo State)
  • Mareez Naguib (Bless Egypt)
  • Noor Mousa (Danish Refugee Council)
  • Ahmad Alkhawaldeh (Oxfam International)
  • Gazi Nouman (Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST))
  • Abdullah Alkaff (Building Foundation for Development)
  • Sarra Hannachi (Borderline-europe)
  • Yousr Elsharawy (Aidoni)
