Burundi Graduation Programme Evaluation

Graduation Model Programme – Concern Worldwide Burundi

Concern Worldwide is implementing the Graduation Model Programme – known as ‘Terintambwe’ – in Cibitoke and Kirundo, two of the poorest and most vulnerable provinces in Burundi.

IDS have been commissioned to undertake an evaluation of this programme. The IDS team have undertaken a quantitative survey and qualitative research in order to explore thresholds between levels of graduation, sustainability of livelihood improvements, the success and cost of the Concern approach and the quality of the targeting. The team have also explored the impact on resilience and health seeking behaviour, and the impacts on the wider community. Following three rounds of data collection in 2012, 2013 and 2014, IDS has been responsible for data analysis, project monitoring and the production of outputs.
