Project

Data Systems and Economywide Modeling to Support Policy Analysis in Ethiopia

This project is aimed at creating and strengthening analytical and practical capacity of policy analysis in Ethiopia, to support the government in its endeavours to meet the challenges of the Millennium Development Goals of 2015.

It specifically provides capacity building on how models such as Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs), Input-Output and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models can be constructed and used in Ethiopia. These will be presented through a series of workshops and training seminars to various key groups and organisations. These range from economists and advisors to economy policymakers at the federal and regional levels, as well as from international, non-governmental and academic institutions.

It is a three year collaborative project between the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS).
