Project

Development and Management of NAMAs in India

The overall objective of the Indo-German project ‘Development and Management of NAMAs in India’ is that the Government of India starts using Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) as one of the mechanisms for addressing climate change mitigation.

To achieve this objective, the project will design NAMA approaches in selected sectors. In line with this approach, the specific objective of the assignment is to provide support to the project team in developing policy products (policy briefs, short papers and frameworks) for communicating the policy messages emanating from the project. IDS will also provide support to the waste sector pre-feasibility study working closely with the GIZ team to provide inputs for the methodology and framework development. The three broad outputs will be: support to develop a NAMA Framework for India, a Policy Brief on a NAMA definition and Advisory Support for the pre-feasibility study being conducted by GIZ on the solid waste management sector in India.
