International Architecture for Economic Shock Financing

Poor countries have been increasingly hit by economic and other types of shocks, thereby undermining their chances to meet the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. This study revisited the existing international architecture of economic shock financing, and provided a number of recommendations for a better shock financing architecture, so as to ensure that when a shock hits, poor countries are able to draw on a range of international instruments that can be rapidly activated, and be effective in supporting the poor.
