Brazil-Africa Technical Cooperation in Health: An Overview

This seminar, chaired by Dr Lizbeth Navas-Alemán, co-convenor of the IDS Rising Powers in International Development programme, will discuss IDS Visiting Fellow Dr José Luiz Telles’ experience as director of the Fiocruz Africa office and its work in ‘structuring cooperation’ in health in Africa. Fiocruz is Brazil’s leading public health think-tank.

Dr Giuliano Russo is a health systems specialist, currently Visiting Fellow at IDS, and a research fellow in health policy and economics at the Institute for Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (CMDT-IHMT, Lisbon).

Danilo Marcondes de Souza Neto is a PhD candidate at the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Cambridge. He was formerly a lecturer at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
