Evidence into Policy and Practice Seminars

Research uptake and impact – how do funders see its future?

31 March 2020 15:00–16:30

Institute of Development Studies This event is online only.

Donors’ approaches to engaging evidence with policy and practice and evaluating its impact, constantly evolve. Their investments have ranged from funding international knowledge programmes, to support for project embedded research communications, to building research capacity and interdisciplinarity, to systems strengthening.

Research continues to underpin many of the efforts to address global challenges. However, concepts of evidence production and use remain contested. How can we ensure that research delivers real benefits to communities facing rising inequalities, the effects of a changing climate, risks to their health and wellbeing and conflict and violence?

A panel of leading international funders and influencers, who are helping to shape this agenda, will discuss what they have learned, possible future models and the implications for policy professionals and researchers.
