Kevin Hernandez is a research officer based at IDS’ Digital and Technology Cluster who is passionate about dissecting and responding to the societal implications of technology through research and evidence-based policy. His main areas of expertise include digital inclusion, digital inequalities, digital government (e-government), the future of work, and the potential social and development implications of emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Internet of Things, 3D-Printing, etc. He contributes to a research theme on ‘connecting the disconnected worker’ at the Digital Futures at Work (DIGIT) research centre.
Kevin collaborates with a diverse set of partners across a broad spectrum of projects. His extensive portfolio spans from conducting academic research to providing technical assistance to governments, supranational organizations, NGOs, and INGOs in the realms of policy and digital strategy development. As of 2023, Kevin’s contributions have resulted in the publication of more than 35 works, garnering over 380 citations and establishing an impressive h-index of 12. He possesses proficiency in a comprehensive range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
