RLO Grantholder Event 2024

IDS will design and facilitate a three-day grant holder event in Nairobi in November 2024, bringing together researchers from across the ESRC-FCDO Raising Learning Outcomes (RLO) programme. The event represents an opportunity to showcase the breadth of work that UKRI have supported to raise learning outcomes internationally, while also creating spaces and scope to identify opportunities to build on the successes of RLO. IDS will also support the cohort with a number of policy/practice outputs.

The Raising Learning Outcomes in Education Systems (RLO) Research Programme is a joint initiative of the the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Launched in 2014, the RLO programme aims to address the global learning crisis by supporting research that provides insights into how education systems in developing countries can be improved to enhance learning outcomes on a large scale. The programme funds a consortium of research projects that tackle critical policy areas hindering the progress of education systems in the Global South. The Programme has built a body of knowledge intended to inform and guide efforts to raise learning levels in education systems across the developing world.
