Early Warning in the Sahel and Horn of Africa: The State of the Art: A Review of the Literature

An early warning system can be defined as a system of data collection to monitor access to food in order to provide timely notice when a food crisis threatens and thus to elicit appropriate response. This study reviews the prolific literature on early warning systems.
