This Study provides one of the most detailed country profiles to date of health expenditure and financing flows in sub-Saharan Africa. Resource analysis includes a district by district breakdown and a quantification of social inequalities in distribution. Chapters are devoted to health insurance and health sector efficiency, and different approaches to estimating ‘resource gaps’ are illustrated.
