Information, especially on environmental management for sustainable development, can provide support to countries and communities for an improved and sustainable quality of life for all their citizens.
The information gap remains great between developed and developing countries and countries with economies in transition. Capacity building in these countries requires rapid development not only for environmental assessment but for information retrieval and dissemination. The purpose of this Guide is to assist users in locating relevant information sources on environment and sustainable development, and in doing so to find new ways to understand, learn and act for the environment.
