Published on 1 January 2000

The focus of this literature review and bibliography is household healthcare seeking behaviour (HCSB) in poor rural communities of Asian transitional economies in general and Vietnam in particular. The bibliography incorporates literature generated from the time of economic reform to the present day: for China from the early 1980s; for Vietnam since doi moi was launched in 1986; since 1985-86 for the New Economics Mechanism of Laos People’s Democratic Rrepublic (PDR); since 1989 in Cambodia; and from the 1990s for the five Central Asian republics.
